Here is our Lika, or the old trouble
maker as she is normally called, among other things. We have owned Lika
since she was 6 weeks old and she sure has been something else.
Lika seems to like trouble pure and
simple, either that or she is really trying to give me a heart attack.
Right after we brought her home, she somehow managed to get into a 40 lb
sack of dog food, I don't know how she did it because the food was kept in
the laundry room behind a closed door. Since the neo is prone to bloat I
was terrified that's what was going to happen, after alerting my vet we
watched for any signs, none ever appeared so Lika must have a pretty hard
stomach ! Another time Lika tangled with her nemesis, our pot belly pig Wilber,
he doesn't want to be ate and is actually pretty game for a fight so Lika
brought it and he gave it. Roughly 200 stitches later and Lika was good to
go, of course my vet insisted she stay the night just in case. I warned
them that she did not like to be confined, they were confident they had
full control over the situation................the next morning they went
into the clinic to find Lika had destroyed their kennels, made it to the
science diet display rack and had filled up :) Hey I told them so but they
wouldn't listen :)
Lika has also contributed greatly to our
breedings, she is grandmother and great grandmother to our younger crowd,
and mother to Rasha, Diablo and Vendetta. She is now retired and spends
her days trying to get at least a little trouble going, mainly with Wilber
but they are both old now so they have spats and not wars.
Lika crossed the bridge this past year, the reason was
probably self inflicted, she developed a slipped disk after enjoying one
of her favorite past times, chicken chasing. After two weeks of
treatment it was evident that we needed to let her cross. I look back on
all the years with her with a warm feeling in my heart, but I still miss
her mischievous ways.
